By Gina DiFalco,

The Duchess of Cambridge attended an Olympic-themed event this week, as she attended the opening an exhibition at The National Portrait Gallery.

Kate Middleton was there representing the royals, honoring athlete portraits with an exhibition entitled "Road to 2012: Aiming High."

She wore a Stella McCartney dress, who is the same designer that makes the outfits for Britain's Olympians, Team GB. She also wore gold accessories, with an Olympic-themed pendant and Prada shoes.

E! Online reports that Middleton took a private tour of the gallery after checking out the athlete portraits at the new exhibition. She also saw took in the sights at the Diamond Jubilee show, The Queen, Art and Image.

Middleton was even involved in the exhibit, as a picture of herself playing hockey at Olympic Park was shown, USA Today reports. Her reaction was “Oh no!”

Middleton’s involvement in the Olympics is to be art patron and Olympic ambassador, so this is just the first of many duties she must fulfill as a royal.
