‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ Season 7 Recap: ‘Parent Trap’

By Diana Cooper,
Kris and Bruce rekindle their marriage; Lamar goes to the dentist; Rob loses hair

The episode begins right where it left off last week. Kris Jenner is on a dinner date with her ex-boyfriend, Todd Waterman. Todd gets more flirty with Kris as he moves closer to her and tells her, “Let’s get out of here. What room are we in?...Can we just do some shots?”

Instead of giving in, Kris replies, “Don’t you think that on some level it would be really cool to walk away as friends? Like to feel like this is meant to be to gain some closure?” Todd, who told her to “stop with the closure,” wasn’t going in any room with her that night. They made a toast to moving on and that was that.

As Kris left she said, “I think that this dinner has taught me a lot of things and it’s nice to know that I made the right decision and I’m just really glad that I’m going home to Bruce Jenner.” Even though Kris is excited to go home to tell Bruce about her date, Bruce feels otherwise.

Bruce demands, “Explain to me why you had to see this a**hole?” Bruce, mad that she went behind his back, adds, “What an idiot you are. I don’t even know if I can trust you. I can’t believe you did this.” Kris was completely shocked by his statement because she thought he would appreciate how much she cares about Bruce.

Meanwhile, Kim, at Khloe’s house, mentions, “I think Lamar has a cavity” and that he needs to see a dentist. “How do you smell his breath? How do you kiss him?” Kim asks. “I have this sixth sense where I can smell if someone has a cavity.” Khloe agrees, but knows that Lamar is too scared to go.

Afterwards, Kris has Kim, Khloe and Kourtney meet her at Jenner Communications Office to tell them about Todd. Kourtney says,“What a little whore! Why would you even give someone the satisfaction?” Since they think that Kris was lying about seeing him for closure, Kim came up with the idea of having Kris take a lie detector test.

A couple days later, a polygraph specialist comes to the house to give Kris the test. “I’ve never been a big believer in a lie detector test, but not this time,” Bruce reveals off-screen. Kris also reveals, “I definitely think that doing a lie detector test is over the top dramatic, but if it makes everybody see that I’m not lying or not being shady then so be it.”

Kris then answers questions made up by the sisters. She says “Yes” to Kim being her favorite daughter and Robert Kardashian being Khloe’s real father. When asked if she’s in love with Todd Waterman and if she would like to have an affair with Todd, she answers “No.” But the last question makes the machine go faster because of her “emotional history.”

After getting news that she passed the lie detector test, she told Bruce, who left halfway through. He asks her, “Why did you go see this guy?” Kris replied, “I don’t know. Don’t ask me that question...but the good news is how great I felt after the dinner...that was a major revelation.” Bruce, not getting a direct answer from Kris, is still disappointed with her decision.

When he goes to the beach with his son, Brandon, to talk about Kris, he says “I don’t think it’s ever been as bad as it’s been lately. I don’t know what to do.”

Back to Lamar, Kim is on a mission to bring him to the dentist. “It’s just so funny to see a big man squirm over the word dentist,” Kim says. Lamar reveals, “I’m afraid of the dentist because Ii know most likely I’m going to have to get a lot of work done.”

When Khloe and Kim finally drag him to Dr.Sands’ office, he gets “a lot of work done.” After being worked on for seven hours, getting eight cavities fixed and a root canal, Lamar was finally done. “I would’ve came to the doctor ever day if I knew it was like this,” he says.

Meanwhile, Rob is in Vegas for an appearance at 1 OAK nightclub. As he is getting ready for the red carpet, Kim tells him that his hair is thinning. “It really bugs me that Kim makes these comments like you’re balding,” he says. When he gets back to L.A., he gets advice from a specialist at a hair loss center. Upon examining Rob’s hair, he tells him it is thinner and advises him to contain what he has now and just make it fuller.

Lamar has a talk with Rob about hair loss and admits that when he was 19, he became bald. Rob, who has no problem shaving his head, reveals, “It’s not worth it to be down...you’re not going to drag on your whole life about your hair.”

At the end of the episode, Kim surprises Bruce and Kris with a “magical vacation” to Malibu, where they originally met. They immediately leave as everything is already packed, but Bruce is not sure it was the best idea. “It seems like right now, we’ve brought all the troubles from home right here in Malibu,” he says. “It might take some more time to decompress.”

When they first get there, Kris is sitting outside watching the waves and Bruce is inside watching TV. He ends up falling asleep on the couch, leaving Kris alone in the bed. “I’m just a little disappointed,” she says off-screen. “If we can’t enjoy a romantic weekend together in a place like this, then what else is left?”

The next day works out better in their favor. Kris makes Bruce coffee and they go through a photo album Kim packed for them. “Going through all of these pictures, reminds me of what a great life Bruce and I had,” she shares. They admit that everything they do got in the way and that they no longer put their relationship first. The episode ends with Kris telling Bruce, “So this is what I’m thinking-I’ll meet you upstairs.”
