'Melissa and Joey' Recap: 7/11

This episode starts off with Mel and her friend, Jackie, who wants a baby even though she is not with a guy, so she is doing a sperm donation. Mel and her are trying to narrow down the guys.

While looking through the men, one comes up who is Italian and has all the qualities of Joe and even cooks his specialty and Mel starts to put it together. She decides to ask him if he donated sperm to see if the donor is him. He brushes her off because he is trying to cook.

When she mentions the cooking specialty, Joe confirms that he did donate sperm after his scandal because he needed the money. Joe tells Mel she needs to talk Jackie out of using his sperm.

Haskell and Lennox went to a garage sale and bought a first edition book together. They find out that the book is worth about $2,000 and Haskell wants to sell it, but Lennox doesn’t want to. She also finds out that he didn’t read the book even though he told her it’s his favorite book. She tells him that his hatred of books has changed their relationship and she kicks him out.

Jackie says she wants to use Joe’s sperm, but Mel is trying to talk her out of it. She finally caves and tells her it’s Joe’s sperm she wants to use. That didn’t sway her from using it, instead she wants to use Joe.

At home, Mel has to tell Joe that she couldn’t stop Jackie. Joe tells her to pull out all the stops but she says she tried. He is worried and doesn’t want to have a baby with her. Mel tells him to go and buy his sperm back.

Lennox tells Mel that Haskell pretended to like something because she did and Mel told her that’s great and she encourages her to manipulate him.

Mel goes to the sperm bank to try and stop Jackie. At the sperm bank, they find out that there is no more sperm of Joe because a family bought it out.

At home, Mel tells Joe that he is off the hook. He is excited that a couple bought his entire “stock.” Joe asks what Jackie will do now, and she tells him she will figure it out.

That night, Jackie comes over to the house to try to seduce Joe because she wants a baby with him. She tries to convince him to let this happen but he doesn’t think it’s right.

Lennox meets with Haskell at the garage. She decides to try and manipulate him and try to cut the book in half but he proves he loves her and decides to give her the book. She tells Ryder it’s actually another book and not the valuable book.

Mel finds out that Jackie is there with Joe. Mel interrupts them right before they start and she is trying to talk him out of it. She tells them that the real reason they can’t do it is because she wants to have his baby. Jackie backs off and as she leaves, she reveals it was just a ply to get Jackie to leave.

Joe has a nightmare that Mel still wants his baby as the episode ends.
