'Melissa and Joey' Recap: 7/18

This episode starts off with Mel out on a date with a guy named Travis. She decides to heat up some leftovers for them to eat. Travis is convinced that Mel is a great cook after seeing everything in her fridge. Joe walks in and she tells him that he is just her nanny, not her cook.

Ryder is texting Holly who is away. She is giving him instructions while she is gone, and Lennox and Joe question him, but he brushes it off.

When Mel comes down for breakfast, Joe makes fun of her for lying to Travis about cooking. She tells him that it was unnecessary to tell him the truth.

At the office, Travis stops by and tells Mel that he wants them to cook together on a date. She tries to get him to go out for food, but he insists on a home made meal.

At home Mel tells Joe to keep quiet while she is working, but she is watching cartoons. She tells him that she is trying to learn how to make food by watching the movie. Mel begs Joe to help her learn to make an amazing meal for Travis. He agrees to help her out.

Lennox brings her friend, Noelle, over and she has a crush on Ryder, but he is oblivious and leaves. Lennox figures it out and questions her friend. Lennox’s friend tries to get Ryder to notice him, but Lennox tells her he has a girlfriend, that doesn’t stop her from giving him her number. Ryder runs over to Lennox after she leaves and asks her what is going on and why she likes him. Lennox tells Ryder that he can not get together with Noelle. He asks Joe if it’s possible for him to date two girls at once.

Joe is trying to give Mel a cooking less before her date on Saturday. He decides to mess with her a bit while they are cooking a chicken. Everyone tries Mel’s cooking and they are impressed with her dinner. Before Mel’s date, Joe sets everything up for her and goes upstairs with a masseuse.

Travis comes over and tells her that they can’t eat chicken because there is a salmonella outbreak. She is freaked out and rushes to Joe. They video chat while she is in the kitchen. Suddenly, Ryder comes down because Holly wants to video chat; sees Noelle, and Ryder throws the tablet in the pot. Lennox tricks Ryder and scares him out of wanting to be with Noelle.

Joe runs downstairs and explains everything to Mel, but Travis walks in and thinks they are together. Mel tells him everything and that she can not cook and Joe was the one cooking. Travis doesn’t believe that Joe and Mel aren’t together and decides to leave. Joe then leaves Mel and goes back to his room to the masseuse. At the end, Mel and Joe are eating dinner together and enjoying the cooking.
