Rita Ora has earned two hit singles in the U.K. and her single “How We Do (Party)” is quickly climbing the U.S charts. Rita, 21, has been taken under the wing of Jay-Z, who signed her to his Roc Nation label.
Rita Ora, who will release her debut album, Ora, this September, opened up to Glamour magazine about meeting Jay-Z and Beyonce as well as talked about her rumored relationship with Rob Kardashian.
The singer says when she first met Jay-Z she was straight off a plane from London with “rained on hair.” She says he has since become “like my brother.” She admitted she was more nervous meeting the rapper’s wife, Beyonce.
“Destiny's Child was my band. I was nearly choking when I met her, but she is the nicest,” she admitted. “I call her an alien because I'm like, ‘How do you do everything at once? You can't be human.’”
Jay-Z and Beyonce aren’t the only powerful people she knows in the industry, she’s also friends with Rihanna, despite feud rumors, and is reportedly dating Kim Kardashian’s brother Rob, although she stayed tight-lipped on the topic. She says while Rob and his family live very public lives, she’s the opposite.
“Me? I'm very private,” she said. “He's a great friend. But the only relationship I'm having now is with the tour bus.”
Even with celebrity friends, a big name mentor and an album that will likely be a success, the Kosovo-born singer says she won’t let any fame change her. She vows to remain the same Rita Ora she has always been.
“I walked into this industry blond with red lips, and I will leave this industry blond with red lips. Mark my words.” She said. “I don't really care [about fame] as long as my album is on your shelf and you're smiling.”
