Selena Gomez's hard work has paid off. The 20-year-old " Who Says" singer earned her first Video Music Awards nomination. The nominees were announced Tuesday morning.
Gomez hosted the VMA pre-show in 2011, but now she has a chance to walk away with her very own moon man. Selena was nominated for her first-ever Video Music Award in the Best Female Video category for her "Love You Like a Love Song" music video.
"My first MTV VMA Nom :) I am so glad you guys have enjoyed this song and video," she wrote on Facebook on Tuesday. "Thank You MTV."
Gomez is up against four other powerful women in music. Other nominees in the Best Female Video category include Beyonce's "Love on Top" video, Katy Perry's "Part of Me" video, Rihanna's "We Found Love" video and Nicki Minaj's "Starships" video.
The 2012 Video Music Awards air September 6 at 8p.m. on MTV. Fans can vote for Selena Gomez or any of the other nominees at MTV.com.
