Sofia Vergara gets engaged to Nick Loeb

Sofia Vergara, who celebrated her 40th birthday Tuesday, got the ultimate gift: an engagement ring from boyfriend Nick Loeb.

A source confirmed the news of her engagement to Us Weekly.

Loeb popped the question in Mexico, where she has been celebrating her birthday with 90 of her family and friends.

Wonderwall first noticed a diamond ring on her finger in a photo posted Monday night on Twitter by her friend, Fernando Fiore. In the image, Vergara is seen toasting for his birthday.

The Modern Family actress began dating Loeb, a businessman from Florida, in February 2010 after they met at a Golden Globes party. For the couple, this engagement is a high point among their many lows. Six months after they became a couple, Loeb suffered injuries in a car accident. Then they broke up for a short period in May.

This will be Vergara’s second marriage. From 1991 to 1993, she was married to Joe Gonzalez, with whom she had a child, Manolo, now 20.
