Three senators, including John McCain, will appear on fifth season of 'Parks and Recreation'

By Gina DiFalco,

John McCain will guest star on the NBC show Parks and Recreation.

Along with McCain, two other senators will appear on the show next season when it premieres this fall.

E! Online reports that Barbara Boxer of California and Olympia J. Snowe of Maine will appear on the fifth season of the show, featuring them mingling with Leslie (Amy Poehler’s character) and Ben (Adam Scott’s character) at a party.

Looks like McCain has already shot the cameo, as he tweeted on Thursday "Had a great time shooting @ParksandRecNBC today w/Amy Poehler - I think it's an Emmy!”

The New York Times reports that on Thursday, the three senators shot scenes for the show at the Hay-Adams hotel in Washington D.C.

During the season four finale, Leslie was elected as city council of Pawnee, Indiana. Also, Ben moved to D.C. to work for a congressman. So the cameos of the three senators should be fitting for the storyline.

The episode that they will appear on will be the second of the fifth season, which will air on Sept. 27.
