US Olympic swim team does ‘Call Me Maybe’ lip dub (Video)

By Daniel S Levine,

Another tribute to Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” hit the web on Thursday, this time, done by the elite swimmers who are members of the U.S. Olympic Swim Team, who clearly know how to let loose before a competition.

The video was uploaded by the USA Swimming Organization and already has over 302,000 views and over 5,000 likes.

Swimmers Missy Franklin, Rachel Bootsma and Elizabeth Beisel explained to Today.com that they picked the song simply because it is a favorite of theirs. They keep Jepsen’s song on constant rotation to get their adrenaline running before they jump into the pool.

SFGate.com also notes that you can spot Michael Phelps, who is trying to break the record for most Olympics medals for a solo athlete in history, bobbing his head out of tune. Phelps’ main rival, Ryan Lochte, is also in the video, blowing a kiss straight to the screen.

The video takes the team from the plane to the pool, with several of them dancing underwater. It was directed by Kathleen Hersey, with Caitlin Leverenz credited as executive producer and Alyssa Anderson as producer. Natalie Coughlin gets a special mention for her airplane cinematography and Russell Mark was the editor.
