Facebook seems to be attempting to make this summer more fun for all of us through our social network usage.
Finding places to go and things to do has never been easier than simply asking others. Facebook has recently combined with the search engine Bing, in an attempt to make general searches even more interactive.
Now, when you search for an activity in Bing, the right side of your screen becomes an “ask Facebook” area. When you post your search to Bing’s Facebook area, your friends have an opportunity to join in on your search results. For example, when searching for fun activities to do in your area this summer, Bing now allows your friends to help you out by giving their own opinions on the activities you would enjoy most.
The partnership between Facebook and Bing is being seen as an intensified war against Google, and there is also buzz about Facebook trying to buy Bing.
Facebook has also posted a picture to its personal Facebook page titled, Social Landmarks Around The World. This is a map of the world where Facebook has highlighted certain areas that they have determined generate the most check-ins. Facebook is calling it the map of the world’s most social cities and popular landmarks. Perhaps taking a stop at one of these area’s this summer should be on your to do list.
When looking for something to do this summer, Facebook may just be your best bet at finding the most exciting summer activities.
