Annie Leibovitz shoots Russell Brand as Captain Hook as part of Disney's 'Let The Memories Begin' celebration

By Gina DiFalco,

Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz is releasing images from the Disney Dream Portrait, and fans can now see Russell Brand as Captain Hook.

The original Peter Pan was released by Disney in 1953, and Brand is portraying the famous nemesis of the beloved Peter Pan perfectly.

The photo shows the Get Him to the Greek Star and ex-husband of pop star Katy Perry barely escaping the mouth of the crocodile that he has been on the run from.

“There are similarities between me and Captain Hook in that I am an Eton-educated, piratical buccaneer living on the high seas stealing and robbing and loathing the perpetual innocence and childhood of Pan," Brand told Us Weekly. "Peter Pan! Oh, how I hate him!"

He added, “And as for that crocodile that nipped my end, I'm fuming!"

The 37-year-old actor and comedian joins Jack Black, Will Ferrell and Jason Segel as the latest celebrities to partake in the Disney photo series done by Leibovitz, which is part of Disney Parks' "Let The Memories Begin" celebration.

While Brand poses as Captain Hook, Black, Ferrell and Segel are the Hitchhiking Ghosts -- Phineas, Ezra and Gus, The Los Angeles Times reports.

"I've had this poster on my wall since I was 15 years old," said Segel. "I was really honored and excited when I found out we were going to do this -- and with the two best dudes of all time!"
