Actor Edward Furlong was reportedly mugged a week ago in the "Skid Row" section of Los Angeles.
The area is known for its large homeless population, as well as for its high-crime rate.
Furlong reported to an area policeman that he asked a man for directions before the man in question demanded Furlong hand over his wallet.
The man quickly departed once Furlong obliged, and no weapons were reportedly involved in the altercation.
An investigation by LAPD is pending.
Furlong is known for his role as John Connor in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). His subsequent films include American History X (1998). His equally well-known drug troubles prevented him from reprising his role as Connor in subsequent Terminator films.
He was hospitalized in 2001 after being found in a pool of his own vomit. Heroin use, which Furlong previously confessed to, was suspected.
He has been in rehab numerous times. Furlong also told a judge that he is unable to pay child support to his wife, Rachael Bella, and their son, Ethan Page.
