CBS’ The Good Wife has picked up another former GCB star, picking Miriam Shor to play a political reporter just two days after Kristin Chenoweth dropped out because of her injury.
Chenoweth was injured on the set of the acclaimed drama in July and sent a statement to People noting that she still needs more time to recover. She was supposed to play the recurring role of a political news reporter the professional and personal lives of Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Peter Florrick (Chris Noth).
“It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to The Good Wife at this time,” she wrote. “[I'm] getting better slowly, and thank you everyone for your concern.”
Shor, who starred with Chenoweth in the short-lived ABC soap GCB, will be playing a similar role, reports TV Line. However, a source stressed to the site that CBS did not hire Shor to replace Chenoweth and that the show always had plans to have more than one reporter in the show.
Shor’s character will also have a background in national news and will not be happy with being sent to cover local events.
Shor has also appeared in Mildred Pierce, Bored To Death, Swingtown and Damages.
The Good Wife’s fourth season premieres on Sept. 30.
