Intruder named in LL Cool J break-in

By Stephanie Marcell,
Name of intruder released

It seems that rapping and acting is not rapper LL Cool J’s only talents. Home security should be added to the list. Early Wednesday morning, LL Cool J stopped an intruder when he attempted to invade Cool J's L.A. home. Since, the name of the intruder has been released and Jonathan A. Kirby has been charged.

Kirby has a lengthy criminal history including a manslaughter conviction where he was sentenced to six years in prison. He was released early on parole.

The rapper was alerted of the attempted burglary after his home security system sounded around 1 a.m. One of the rapper's daughters called 911. Cool J stopped the intruder and detained them in his home until the police arrived on the scene.

Evidently, the star’s training for his hit television show, NCIS: Los Angeles, has come in handy. This robber made a huge mistake attempting to intrude on one of Hollywood’s fittest actors.

According to the Associated Press, the rapper-actor will not be charged for the confrontation with Kirby. The star broke Kirby’s nose, jaw and rib.

LL Cool J shares his Studio City home with his wife, Simone, and their four children, Najee, 22, Italia, 21, Samaria, 17, and Nina, 11.

A rep for the rapper told omg! "LL Cool J and his family are safe and thank everyone for their thoughts and concern. As a father, husband, and citizen, he is committed to keeping his family safe and is cooperating with authorities on this private matter."
