Mayim Bialik tweets and blogs post accident

Former Blossom star and currently Big Bang Theory regular Mayim Bialik is speaking out about her car accident that almost cost her a finger.

The accident occurred Wednesday after a car full of Chilean tourists turned their car into her Volvo, causing the actress to be seriously injured.

The 36-year-old suffered a lot of pain, but in the end was able to keep her thumb, which was significantly injured in the accident. A source at the scene told reporters that there was “a lot of blood” on Mayim and in her car.

According to People, Mayim was photographed with gauze on one wrist and a full cast on the other. Now Mayim is writing, (as best she can), about the incident on her blog and on Twitter.

On Friday the actress blogged about the accident, prefacing that she was “lefty typing.” She explains the accident to her readers, and thanks the men who helped her through the incident. She writes how her faith got her through the ordeal, writing, “I am a deeply religious person who used prayer and deep breathing to keep me going all the way from the accident to the ER to surgery 6 hours later, no medication until surgery.”

She also writes about how grateful she is to have her job, “I will be continuing on The Big Bang Theory with no weeks off; they are so good to me and I love my job and the support I get from my buddies on the cast and our loving staff and crew.”

Yesterday she took to Twitter to express her sorrow for missing a fantastic event. She writes, “Missing out on Jewlicious festival this weekend bc of my accident..:( have fun, everyone! See u next one!”

Mayim currently plays Amy Farrah Fowler on CBS hit show The Big Bang Theory.
