'Modern Family' co-creator Steve Levitan disses Ann Romney's opposition to gay marriage

Modern Family co-creator Steve Levitan has responded to the wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s recent revelation that the hit ABC show is her favorite.

Levitan took to Twitter to bash Ann Romney’s stance against gay marriage by writing “Thrilled Ann Romney says ModFam is her favorite show. We'll offer her the role of officiant at Mitch & Cam's wedding. As soon as it's legal.”

Mitch and Cam, played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, are in a committed relationship on the show, raising their adopted daughter Lily.

Levitan’s comments come after Romney told The Insider that Modern Family is her favorite show.

According to Us Weekly, Mitt Romney made his stance on the issue clear when he said in June “Marriage is between one man and one woman.”

In February he told the crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference that he "prevented Massacusetts from becoming the Las Vegas of gay marriage."

“When I am president, I will defend the Defense of Marriage Act,” he also said. “And I will fight for an amendment to our constitution that defines marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman.”
