Natalie Portman is no longer single.
The actress and her fiancé of two years, Benjamin Millepied, married Saturday night on the California coast of Big Sur. Millepied is a French dancer and choreographer. The couple exchanged vows in a Jewish ceremony surrounded by family and friends.
Portman met Millepied on the set of Black Swan in 2009. He was a choreographer on the film and the pair began dating during filming. In December 2010, they announced their engagement and Portman’s pregnancy.
The couple’s son, Aleph, is 14 months old. Portman said her personal life comes first and nothing comes close to the happiness of her family.
Now that Portman is married, she has the option to become a French citizen like her husband.
“I now have the possibility of taking on French nationality. It would accomplish the Francophile dreams of my father and myself," she told Madame Figaro magazine. "I lived in Paris when I was 12 and my father gave me the name Natalie as an homage to Gilbert Becaud’s song. Everything in my life has drawn me towards a French family.”
