Pink announced as newest CoverGirl, her album gets release date

By Gina DiFalco,

CoverGirl has announced the newest face of their brand is “Raise Your Glass” singer Pink.

Pink joins Modern Family star Sofia Vergara, Queen Latifah, Drew Barrymore, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and country crooner Taylor Swift as faces of the brand.

At a press conference on Monday in Santa Monica, California, the news that Pink would be joining the cosmetics company was announced. Also at the conference, the singer announced her newest album The Truth About Love will get a September 18 release date, USA Today reports.

Pink’s CoverGirl campaign has been described as “beauty with an edge,” The Huffington Post reports.

Pink will also take on responsibilities to promote a “bold new mascara innovation.”

The singer took a little time off after giving birth to daughter Willow 13 months ago. She recently talked about becoming a mother, and whether or not that changed her music.

She explained having Willow hasn’t “changed my songwriting,” but she is definitely “more aware of my cursing.”

Willow even makes her music debut on the song “How Come You’re Not Here.”

“There was a basket of sh--, and she came over and pulled out the bells and started banging on them, and I was like, 'Record it!' And then she went up to the bass guitar on 'Timebomb' and started plucking away. She's actually pretty good! She's better on bass than I am! She plays piano, she bangs sh--, she's either going to be violent or a percussionist ... or a violent percussionist."
