Rihanna has become one of the biggest female artists in music today. She has released six albums, each very different from the last . With much more music to come from the 24-year-old, here is a list of the 12 best singles from Rihanna so far.

12) “Pon De Replay”
“Pon De Replay” was Rihanna’s introduction to the world. The song was only a taste of what was to come.

11) “Unfaithful”
“Unfaithful” was a brave single choice for Rihanna. Telling the story of a cheating woman, the song let everyone know that she was not trying to a perfect popstar.

10) “SOS”

“SOS” became Rihanna’s first No.1 single in 2006. It’s the kind of song that gets stuck in your head.

9) “Russian Roulette”

“Russian Roulette” marked a change for Rihanna when it was released in 2009. Featured on Rated R as the lead single, “Russian Roulette,” which was released a few months after Chris Brown infamously assaulted her, introduced the darker, tougher side of the singer.

8) “Man Down”

“Man Down,” featured on Rihanna’s Loud is a song that shows that the singer can successfully take on a different genre. The song adopts a Reggae sound.

“I’m super inspired by reggae music [and it] has been a part of me since I was born, and I grew up listening to it. I grew up loving it…” She had told MTV News about the reggae influence in the song. “The special thing in [‘Man Down’] is the fact that it’s a female singing those lyrics, then you have that reggae thing and the chant; the overall energy in that song is so gangsta.”

7) “S&M”
Rihanna showed her badgirl side with “S&M” with the song’s suggestive lyrics and the accompanying music video, which was too raunchy for some. Despite it all, “S&M” became a huge hit.

6) “California King Bed”
Taking a break from upbeat pop songs, Rihanna released the ballad “California King Bed” in 2011. It demonstrated just how powerful the 24-year-old’s vocals are.

5) “Don’t Stop the Music”
“Don’t Stop the music” was released during Rihanna’s transition from good girl to Good Girl Gone Bad. The catchy song, in a way, blends her good girl side with her bad girl side.

“Where Have You Been,” off Talk That Talk is Rihanna’s latest hit single. Rihanna’s music has evolved over the years and this song is much different from past singles, but as music is always changing this songs is proof Rihanna could do anything.

3) “Disturbia”

“Disturbia” was featured on the re-release of Good Girl Gone Bad. the song was co-written by Chris Brown. Around the time of it’s release, L.A Reid, who was head of Def Jam, said the song marked when the singer started “taking control” of her career. It became her fourth No.1.

2) “We Found Love”
We Found Love is Rihanna’s biggest hit to date, when it comes to the Billboard Hot 100. It became her biggest hit after it spent its 8th week at No.1 in December. It spent a total of 10 weeks on top.

“We Found Love” may be Rihanna’s biggest hit when it comes to the Billboard charts, but “Umbrella” is the song responsible for skyrocketing her career.
