Here are just a few tracks we found to keep your summer tunes headed in the right direction.
1) “Aurora” by Hans Zimmer
With more importance than other Top 5 Must Downloads, “Aurora” is Hans Zimmer’s personal dedication to the victims and loved ones affected by the Colorado shooting. All proceeds from the track’s sales are donated to The Aurora Victims Relief Fund at Community First Foundation (GivingFirst.org). Available on iTunes, this is one track that is not only beautiful, but also noteworthy and beneficial to others in need.
2) “We Found Love” by Matt Kearney
Made famous by the rebellious Rihanna, “We Found Love” is re-recorded by Matt Kearney on his iTunes Sessions album. This new spin has the message of Rihanna’s dance track, but with the soft touch of Kearny. Not available to listen on YouTube, we’ve found a snippet to check out here on iTunes’ website.
3) “Home” by Phillip Phillips
If you’ve been keeping up with the London Olympic Games, you might recognize this track. With an absurd name like Phillip Phillips, you better believe this track has to be catchy. Inspiring and uplifting, Phillips’ track has a sound similar to Mumford and Sons. So if you love the sound of campfire rock, then this track is a must download.
4) “Let Me Love You” by Ne-Yo
Hard not to love Ne-Yo since he can sing, he can dance and he’s got style. Thankfully we were not disappointed with his new track released for purchase July 31. This is bound to be a hit. Ne-Yo’s velvety voice glides easily with the simple but happy go lucky chorus. He’ll have you dancing and singing at the top of your lungs in no time. We’d love to let you love us, Ne-Yo.
5) “Primadonna” by Marina and The Diamonds
Think of Marina and The Diamonds as Lady Gaga and Katy Perry meeting 3oh!3. They’re pop, they’re techno, girly and punk at the same time. It’s a bizarre combination that turned out to produce a pretty note-worthy track. Featured recently on VH1, “Primadonna” is a really for the girls as its flirty and self-centered. However, doesn’t mean the not so feminine listeners can’t appreciate a catchy song when they hear one.
