Singer Adele and British boy band One Direction are two of the biggest names in music, and now both Adele and One Direction are in the Guinness World Records 2013 edition.

Adele broke an astonishing seven world records according to Digital Spy . Her single “Rolling in the Deep” became the biggest-selling digital track in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Her second album 21 was the biggest-selling digital album in both countries as well.
Contact Music reports the British band One Direction is extremely excited about their record breaking first album Up All Night saying: “Being the first British band to debut at Number 1 in America with a debut album is something that we would have never even have dreamt of. We are incredibly proud to have this achievement included in the Guinness World Records book.”
Other musical acts that broke records this year include The Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga, PJ Harvey, Whitney Houston, and Madonna.
The Rolling Stones broke the fastest-selling rock concerts in UK history with 220,000 tickets sold in one hour, eight minutes.
Lady Gaga’s second album Born This Way became the fastest-selling US digital album with 1.1 million copies sold in the first week of its release.
The Guinness World Records 2013 book will be released on September 11 in the U.S. and September 13 in the U.K.
