Ann Romney, wife of Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, has been confirmed as a possible guest host on Good Morning America in place of Robin Roberts next month. There has even been speculation that First Lady, Michelle Obama, may make an appearance on the same day.
According to The Washington Post, an ABC spokesperson confirmed that Romney is being considered to fill in for Roberts on a show in October.
The same representative said that “every effort is being made” to schedule the wife of President Barack Obama to appear on the same hour segment. However, the first lady’s involvement is very tentative.
Robin Roberts temporarily departed Good Morning America on August 30 in order to fight myelodysplastic syndrome, a rare blood disorder that affects bone marrow. She began chemotherapy in preparation for a bone marrow transplant that she will undergo later this year.
Roberts, who has been battling breast cancer for over five years, remains optimistic about the diagnosis.
“My doctors tell me I'm going to beat this -- and I know it's true.”
Good Morning America has announced that Romney is only one of several other guest hosts that will make an appearance on the show. Other celebrity hosts include Stephen Colbert, the cast of Modern Family, Rob Lowe, Barbara Walters and Diane Sawyer.
