AnnaLynne McCord says she ‘had no voice’ during sexual abuse

Actress AnnaLynne McCord revealed a shocking past of sexual abuse on Sept. 22 during an event in L.A. aimed at ending human trafficking and slavery, in which she claims she felt completely helpless.

OK! magazine reports that the actress hosted the event and spoke to a crowd of sexual assault victims and their supporters, assuring the crowd she could relate.

“I know what it feels like,” McCord said. “I had a very similar experience to what these girls go through 20 times a night. It happened to me once by somebody that I knew, and it is a very interesting thing to feel that you do not have the voice to say ‘no.’”

McCord then clarified that the abuse was not an attack, rather a hospitable allowance of an man into her home, in which she was “taken advantage of.”

According to the Huffington Post, the actress inspired fans and friends to speak up in support of sexual abuse awareness. McCord’s 90210 co-star Senae Grimes tweeted, “SO PROUD of my sister @iamannalyneemcc for all her hard work with #somalymam over the years. Her dedication to this cause is incredible.”
