'Awkward' Recap: Season Finale!

This episode of Awkward was the season two finale and questions were answered and drama was had!

At the start of the episode, the crew is at a party where they are playing spin the bottle. When Jenna spins the bottle, it lands right between Jake and Matty. Lissa tells her to spin again and it flips right into Matty’s hands.

The two go in the closet for seven minutes of heaven and decide to fake it so everyone thinks they are doing something. Jake interrupts them and tells them it’s okay because he knows they are together. When he closes the door, Matty tells her he told him and they kiss. Jenna finally made her choice!

At school, Tamara, Ming and Jenna decide they want to go on the summer abroad trip. Jenna is happy about Matty but is just waiting on something bad to happen. She tells her friend that they haven’t made it official, but Matty comes over and kisses her in the middle of the quad and calls her his girlfriend. She is thrilled. When Matty leaves the table, Tamara tells them that Ricky is texting her again.

Sadie goes through his phone and sees he is texting Tamara and freaks out. When Ricky calls his own phone, Sadie goes crazy and tells him he loves her.

Jenna decides she wants to try and be friends with Jake. She knows he says he is okay with it, but she is not sure. When she tries to talk to Jake she says it’s awkward and he tells her he really is okay with it and that he is happy to be playing the field.

Jenna gets called into the office where she sees her parents with Val. She is happy that a problem seems to be occurring. Val decides to tell her parents to send Jenna on the trip, but her father tells them money is too tight. Jenna says she is okay with it as long as her parents are back together. Her parents decide to think about the trip.

Jenna realizes that everything is going great and she doesn’t know what to do with herself.

At her house, Jenna and Matty are together and he tells her everything is perfect and they will have a great summer together. While Jenna and Matty are making out, her parents interrupt to tell her she is going to Europe and she realizes that this is the bad timing thing she was waiting for.

Matty and Jenna talk about the summer. Jenna wants Matty to come to Europe but he already committed to camp and wants to go. He tells her that she can still go without him and have an amazing time and it will be over before she knows it. Jenna tells Tamara her dilemma but, Tamara tells Jenna that she is also going to Europe and she is so excited.

Jenna doesn’t know what to do, and she asks her mom for help. Her mother tells her to go to Europe. She wants Jenna to have the chance that she never got. Jenna decides to manipulate Matty into coming to Europe at Tamara’s Europe party. Ming is completely wasted and Jenna decides to help Tamara with her. Ming wants to have sex with her crush Fred.

Sadie is freaking out about Ricky and Lissa tries to give her advice on what to do. Across the room, Jake tells Matty that Lissa wants to hook up and he has all these girls going after him now. When Tamara comes over and tells them she doesn’t want to babysit Ming in Europe, Jake reveals he took the last slot and Tamara can’t go now.

When Tamara tells Ming she needs her car keys, she goes off to have a break down. As she leaves, Fred comes to Ming and tells her goodbye because his house is redistricted and he can’t go to that school anymore. He tells her it is the Asian Mafia’s fault.

The three girls are in Ming’s car venting about their problems. When Jenna walks back into the house, Jake tells her to hide him because Lissa is coming and Jenna covers for him. Lissa pushes past her to find Jake. Jake runs into Ming’s car where Tamara is still sitting.

Inside, Matty and Jenna kiss and Clark takes a picture of their encounter. He tells Jenna he was rooting for them to be together. She tells him her dilemma and he tells her to shake it off because everything is going her way and she should follow her gut. She realizes her gut is telling her she doesn’t need to go to Europe, but Tamara does.

When Tamara vents to him about not having anyone, he tells her she is crazy and they kiss. Jenna sees the entire thing happening as she runs outside. Jenna freaks and walks away from the scene and she tells Clark what happened. He reassures her of everything and she realizes he is being ridiculous. And then she finds out he was the mysterious commenter on her blog all along!

Jenna meets Tamara outside and she confesses everything. Jenna tells her it is okay and gives her the trip to Europe. They decide to go back to the party. They open the closet to see Ricky and Clark hooking up and when Sadie comes through she sees the scene and is shocked.

Sadie is upset and drunk and is venting to Tamara and Jenna. Sadie is about to apologize to them but passes out instead.

At the party, Tamara and Jake are dancing together and Jenna tells Matty that she is staying. She is happy she got everything she wanted, but she isn’t sure it’s everything she needs.
