Claire Danes’ acceptance speech started a whirlwind of responses on Twitter on Sunday night, after she made a shout-out to her Homeland co-star Mandy Patinkin while accepting the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series Emmy in a hilarious way.
Danes, 33, shouted out Patinkin saying "Mandy Patinkin, holla,” much to the amusement to those watching at home.
New York Magazine said "'Mandy Patinkin, holla' is the best thank-you ever” and NPR said “If the Internet doesn't remix 'Mandy Patinkin, holla' by tomorrow morning, it is a failure.''
On Showtime’s Homeland, Danes plays CIA agent Carrie Mathison and Patinkin is her handler Saul Berenson. The show won the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series.
Danes’ other co-star, Damian Lews, won outstanding Actor in a Drama Series.
