Deleted scenes on ‘The Avengers’ to appear in 'Captain America' sequel

Chris Evans gives exclusive insight into sequel

Marvel wastes no time in trying to churn out hit movies. After the monstrous success of The Avengers Marvel has already confirmed sequels to the Iron Man, Thor and Captain America franchises. At the Toronto Film Festival, Chris Evans spilled some secrets about the sequel.

Evans told Collider that there were plenty of scenes featuring America’s most patriotic hero that did not make it on to The Avengers, but will be in the Captain America sequel titled Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Evans said, “they had all those deleted scenes with The Avengers because a lot of those scenes are for Captain 2, you know what I mean? It was good stuff, but it all felt like that was his story. It is a different movie. With The Avengers there was so much to cram in. Like I said, it was a long movie anyway. So I think making it any longer would have just been exhausting.”

One of the deleted scenes was leaked courtesy of the Latino-Review, unfortunately it was taken down soon after. They did us the great courtesy of describing the scene in full detail.

It starts off in the present day with Steve Rodgers (Captain America) in his apartment looking at an old news clip online of him as Captain America being heralded as “a product of science, a name every Nazi fears.” Then he shuts off his laptop and looks at the files of his war buddies. They are all deceased.

When he finds Peggy Carter’s file we see that she is not deceased and she is retired. Her number is in the file, but Rodgers decides against calling her. The scene then cuts to him entering a coffee shop and flirting with a waitress (potential love interest). Stan Lee than cuts in to tell Rodgers “Ask for her number you moron!”

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is scheduled to come out on April 4, 2014.
