Emmy-nominated Parenthood guest-star Jason Ritter gives details on season four

Parenthood recently released a promo for their upcoming season that revealed to fans that Sarah Braverman (Lauren Graham) and her onscreen boyfriend Mark Cyr (Jason Ritter) are engaged. However, Ritter revealed that it will be a bumpy ride to the altar. You can watch the promo below:

Ritter told TVLine that the euphoria of getting engaged is replaced by all the stress of planning a wedding. On top of this stress is the family’s reluctance to embrace the engagement.

“Even though it’s solid in our two characters’ minds, some of the other characters are [wondering out loud], ‘How real is this?’ and ‘Where’s the ring?’” Ritter said.

In more good news, it was revealed by The Hollywood Reporter that Jason Ritter nabbed an Emmy nomination for Best Drama Guest Actor. This puts him in direct competition against Dylan Baker (The Good Wife), Jeremy Davies (Justified), Ben Feldman (Mad Men), Michael J. Fox (The Good Wife) and Mark Margolis (Breaking Bad).

Below Ritter humbly admits that all the actors mentioned above are a class better than him and Graham jokes about a possible nip-slip wardrobe malfunction at the Emmys.

Parenthood season four airs Tuesday, September 11th at 10/9c.
