The domestic dispute between Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada and NFL athlete Chad Ochocinco took the entertainment world by storm after the story broke. Not much had been said by either party following the incident but Evelyn recently went on ABC’s Nightline for an interview, breaking her silence since the story came out.
She explains the details of the incident and how everything escalated after she found a receipt for condoms. She tells how after she accused Chad of cheating, “He grabbed me by here and he head-butted me. I felt blood coming down my face… and I looked at him and I said, “You just head-butted me?”
The interview includes scenes of Chad at court appearances for the case. Also, a 911 tape of a neighbor Evelyn ran to following the dispute is revealed in the interview.
The reality star is very emotional throughout the interview. Lozada felt the wrath of viewers blogging that “she got what she deserved” although Evelyn feels these harsh comments are “unfair.” She teared up near the end of the interview saying, “It’s the hardest thing in the world to walk away from someone that you really love.”
There have been rumors about a possible reconciliation. Although, Evelyn recently told People Magazine, "You can't repair this. Not
right now. You just can't."
The couple seemed to be living the dream before the incident. The two had recorded a spin-off show for Vh1 named Eve and Ocho. Since the tumultuous event, the show has been cancelled. The pair has also filed for divorce.
Basketball Wives is set to premiere a fifth season on Vh1 soon.
