Fiona Apple talks arrest in strange speech, apologizes to jail owner

At a Friday performance in Houston, Texas, songstress Fiona Apple addressed her recent drug arrest during an odd, rambling speech in front of hundreds of fans.

The Toronto Sun reports that the singer told the audience, “There are four of you out there, and I want you to know that I heard everything you did, I wrote it all down with your names and everything you did and said, stupidly thinking that I couldn’t hear or see you. I then ripped the paper up, but not before I encoded it.”

Apple even extended a strange apology to “the guy who runs the jail,” saying he was “a real decent guy” for “being attitude-y and saying that I didn’t trust him.”

According to Fox News, Apple was arrested by border patrol officers on Wednesday along the Mexican border in Sierra Blanca, Texas.

Authorities searched the singer’s tour bus and found hashish, prompting the arrest. Apple was put behind bars at Hudspeth County Jail, before being released on $10,000 bail.
