'Gambit' trailer features Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz (Video)

By Matthew Dougherty,

The trailer for Gambit, the new film scripted by Joel and Ethan Coen, is here.

Directed by Michael Hoffman, Gambit is a remake of a film from 1966 that starred Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine. The plot revolves around an art curator trying to get his awful boss to buy a fake Monet. He enlists the help of an unpredictable Texas rodeo queen.

The new film stars Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz, Alan Rickman and Stanley Tucci.

The trailer offers plenty of British humor. The Hollywood Reporter said that the film seems to have a bit of Oceans Eleven, Raising Arizona and The King’s Speech in it, making for an original creation.

Gambit marks the first movie that the Coen brothers have a heavy influence on since 2010’s True Grit remake, which they directed. Before that, since 2007, the duo had released a film every year.

Originally, the film was supposed to be released later this year, but according to ComingSoon.net, it will not be released until 2013. Check out the trailer below!
