Jennifer Lawrence: ‘I don’t have many talents’

By April Chieffo,

She starred in the hugely successful film, The Hunger Games, but fame has not changed Jennifer Lawrence one bit. The 22-year-old has remained very humble and grounded, especially when it comes to talking about herself.

Lawrence, who just started shooting the second film in The Hunger Games trilogy, says acting and archery are her only talents. She says she could “kill someone with a bow and arrow if they’d hold still!” In her new film with Bradley Cooper, Silver Linings Playbook, she had to learn how to dance, but she said she had two left feet.

"I'm such a bad dancer," Lawrence told W Magazine. "I don't have many talents: I'm not a good cook, I can't clean and I can't sew. The only thing I can do well is shoot a bow and arrow -- which I learned to do for The Hunger Games and will probably never come in handy -- and act. Imagine me 100 years ago: I would have been pointless.”

Lawrence’s acting talents have been recognized. She has been nominated for a Golden Globe and an Academy Award. Still, she hasn’t let fame go to her head. She prefers a normal life at home and away from paparazzi.

“I don’t understand how actors can do it. You have no life here,” she said about living in L.A. “You are followed everywhere. It’s not like that anywhere else in the world. I don’t want to stay in L.A. and start thinking that’s reality—because it’s very far from normal. But I still love movies. I’m just going to love being in them from Kentucky, or Prague, or somewhere else.”
