Talk-show host Katie Couric admitted to struggling with bulimia on Sept. 24 episode of her new talk show, Katie. Couric confessed that she suffered from bulimia through her college years.
On her show, she interviewed singer, Demi Lovato, who had also suffered from an eating disorder. Yahoo! News reports that Couric never made this disorder public to anybody, so the news was a shock to her audience.
Couric wanted to focus more on her guest, Lovato, rather than talk about her struggles in the past. So she did not detail much about her disorder.
E! online reports that Couric did not want to go further into her past as to what happened during college, but Lovato was totally fine with that.
Lovato’s struggle with anorexia was not easy. Back in 2011, Lovato came out to the public she was suffering with anorexia. Since then, she has been a strong advocate for eating disorders. She has a partnership with the Jed Foundation for her Love is louder than the pressure to be perfect campaign. Her struggles have not stopped her from getting where she needed to go.
