Kerri Walsh Jennings was pregnant during Olympic Gold win (Video)

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Nothing could stop Olympic volleyball pro Kerri Walsh Jennings from winning the gold in the 2012 Summer Games -- not even her pregnancy. That’s right fans, during the 2012 Olympic Games, Jennings was five weeks pregnant as she fought for, and won, the gold.

According to Huffington Post, Walsh Jennings took to the Today Show where she spilled her secret to host Matt Lauer. “When I was throwing my body around fearlessly, and going for gold for our country, I was pregnant, and today I’m 11 weeks pregnant,” she states.

Naturally, Walsh Jennings went into the games unaware of said pregnancy, but did admit that she and husband Casey were trying for their third child, but didn’t expect it to happen so quickly.

She explains that in London, she was “unreasonably moody and touchy,” noting that she is usually “a pretty happy girl.” Her partner, Misty May-Treanor poked fun at her teammate saying, “You’re probably pregnant.”

“I thought it could have been the stress of the games and travel kind of throws your schedule off, but I knew. At some point, you’re late and then you start feeling something. And I definitely started feeling something in London,” Walsh Jennings admits.

However, that didn’t stop her from playing her best in the games, “I gave everything I had!” she states.

Their third child is due April 9 and will join sons Joey,3, and Sundance, 2.
