Kristin Cavallari explains labor as 'painful' but 'worth every minute'

By Marissa Willstein,

Kristin Cavallari opted for the epidural but as ladies know, labor is still far from easy. Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, or the moment when she would meet her son for the first time, got her through all of the pain.

The morning before she gave birth, the Hills alum had a false alarm that prompted fiancé Jay Cutler to leave Chicago Bears training camp. What she believed to be contractions woke her up at 4 a.m.

After Cutler left to be with the mother of his son, Cavallari spoke with her doctor and realized she still had some time left.

“We went for a walk and I could get through the pains,” she recalled to People. “I said, ‘Ouch this really hurts,’ but I was kind of laughing through them. My doctor was like, ‘Trust me, you’ll know when it’s the real deal!’”

And that she did. Cavallari left for the hospital that day with Cutler by her side.

Her newborn and first child, Camden Jack, arrived at 2 a.m. on August 8.

“The pain was like nothing I’ve ever experienced,” she said. “It was so painful but a different kind of pain—because I knew we were going to meet our son. It was worth every minute and I’ll do it again.”

Does that mean there will be a sibling for Camden in the near future?
