There isn’t much that Lady Gaga can do to genuinely shock her fans. But during her new fragrance launch in New York City on Thursday, the pop diva did something no one was expecting. She got inked in front of the crowd.
SFGate reports that Gaga hosted the launch at Manhattan’s Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, where she arrived in a convertible wearing a large floral bag over her head, only to get out and climb into an enlarged replica of her new fragrance bottle.
The odd event was name “Sleeping With Gaga” by the superstar herself and she encouraged her legions of fans to place reach into the giant perfume bottle and touch her while she “slept.”
According to E! News, Gaga then emerged in front of the crowd and took a seat while a tattoo artist inked a Renaissance-era angel onto the back of the singer’s newly shaven head.
Gaga shared the inspiration behind the new scent, Fame, telling Access Hollywood cameras, “I wanted it to be very sexy. And, I also wanted it to be a little bit slutty. I wanted it to have that sort of danger of a really beautiful stripper. It’s a fragrance for a woman that wants to be taken to bed, certainly.”
