Lindsay Lohan hit-and-run brings more legal troubles for actress

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Just days after taking a Twitter jab at Amanda Bynes, Lindsay Lohan is at the center of a hit-and-run herself.

According to the LA Times, Lohan was arrested around 2:30am after she allegedly clipped a pedestrian in a small alleyway in New York. The reports suggest that the Liz & Dick actress hit a 34-year-old man’s knee and did not stop.

Lohan is currently on probation for prior brushes with the law, one in which includes jewelry theft. Per her probation, the actress cannot get in any trouble, or she will be thrown back in jail. The Lifetime film is expected to be LiLo’s shot back into the film industry after a very tainted reputation.

Thus far, the actress’ publicist, Steve Honig has since commented on the situation saying, “While some of the facts are still being gathered, it appears that this is much ado about nothing. We are confident this matter will be cleared up in the coming weeks, and the claims being made against Lindsay will be proven untrue."

TMZ is reporting that the vehicle the actress was driving, a Porsche Cayenne, was originally owned by Real Housewives of Miami's Karent Sierra. The site is uncertain if Sierra officially signed over documents to pal Domingo Zapata, who is also a pal of Lohan’s. If the registration wasn’t changed, per New York law, the flack could come back on Sierra.

The reality star’s rep has released a statement saying that the star is "completely unaware of anyone (other than the new owner) driving the vehicle."

The statement continues, "Through filming for Real Housewives of Miami, press engagements, and crazy travel schedules, the paperwork has not been executed 100% for the sale of the Porsche. But [Dr. Sierra] is not responsible for the unfortunate occurrence that took place with Ms. Lohan and the pedestrian. “
