Lionsgate announced a pair of new release dates Tuesday, pushing back I, Frankenstein and announcing a date for Snitch.
Deadline reports that I, Frankenstein will now be released on Sept. 13, 2013, instead of Feb. 22, 2013.
Back in October, Lionsgate first announced that The Dark Knight’s Aaron Eckhart would play Frankenstein’s monster in the film, which is based on Kevin Grevioux’s graphic novel and will be written and directed by Pirates of the Caribbean writer Stuart Beattie. Yvonne Strahovski and Bill Nighy also star.
In I, Frankenstein, the monster finds itself in a modern world where two immortal clans are battling each other.
Snitch, directed by Ric Roman Waugh, will take I, Frankenstein’s February date, reports Coming Soon.net. That film stars Dwayne Johnson, Susan Sarandon, Barry Pepper and Benjamin Bratt.
It is actually based on a PBS Frontline documentary about on a man who makes a deal with the government to save his son, who was wrongly accused of a drug crime, from a long jail sentence. The father is assigned on a dangerous mission to infiltrate a Mexican drug cartel.
