The teaser for Lifetime’s made-for-TV movie Liz & Dick was released Wednesday, giving fans their first look at Lindsay Lohan as the iconic actress Elizabeth Taylor.
As MTV notes, the film focuses on Taylor’s infamous relationship with Richard Burton, which heated up while the two were making 1963’s Cleopatra. In the 30-second spot, Lifetime squeezes in as many shots of Lohan and True Blood’s Grant Bowler, who plays Burton, yelling and throwing bottles at each other and getting as intimate as they can. “They drink. They fight. They fornicate!” a character is heard saying.
At the end, one character confronts Taylor about her many marriages. “Who's counting?” Lohan snaps in reply.
People reports that the spot will make its TV debut during the Emmys Sunday night. The film itself will air in November.
Lohan made the movie over the summer. During the rough production, there were reports that Lohan and Bowler weren’t getting along and there were investigations by Hollywood unions after staffers complained about exhaustion and Lohan was famously found unconscious in her hotel room. Lohan was also involved in a car crash during filming.
Lohan is following up Liz & Dick with an appearance in Scary Movie 5 and The Canyons.
