Lindsay Lohan has another drama on her hands, thanks to an arrest in New York City early Wednesday morning after allegedly striking a pedestrian by a nightclub with her car. As typically happens with Lohan dramas, there are different versions of the events, with the man claiming that she was drunk, while others say she wasn’t.
Lohan was arrested at 2:30am after leaving the Dream Downtown hotel and nightclub, two hours after allegedly hitting the man.
The alleged victim has now identified himself as cook Jose Rodriguez to the New York Daily News and claimed that Lohan reeked of alcohol and slurred her words when she spoke. She “smelled like alcohol,” he said, adding, “They acted like I was nothing...That no one could touch her because she was rich and powerful.”
Now, sources for TMZ say that she was driving to the club from a Slash concert and when she left she was “definitely sober.” Sources close to Lohan also say that she was completely sober and knows that driving drunk could violate her probation.
TMZ also reported that there is a surveillance video of the entire incident which shows that Rodriguez has been over exaggerating his story. In it, Lohan is seen driving very slowly and does get close to a pedestrian, but it isn’t clear if she actually makes contact. One detective says that she did “graze” the pedestrian’s leg, while another says the car didn’t touch him at all. The video then shows the alleged victim running after her car, but it doesn’t show him ever confronting Lohan face-to-face.
When Lohan does leave her car, she does not appear to be aware that she hit a pedestrian.
Her rep, Steve Honig, called the case “much ado about nothing” in a statement to the Daily News.
“We are confident this matter will be cleared up in the coming weeks and the claims being made against Lindsay will be proven untrue,” he said.
