Matthew Broderick is the latest to join the ranks of stars who have made guest appearances on Modern Family.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC announced that the Ferris Bueller's Day Off star will join the cast as a new, neurotic friend for Phil (Ty Burrell). Other guest stars booked for the hit sitcom’s fourth season include Bridesmaids actress Wendi McLendon-Covey and Shelley Long, who will be back to play Jay’s (Ed O’Neill) ex.
Zap2It noted that ABC did not announce what episode Broderick will make his appearance in or when it will air.
Other actors who have guest starred on Modern Family include Greg Kinnear, Ellen Barkin, Minnie Driver, Kevin Hart and Philip Baker Hall. Nathan Lane, who starred in The Producers on Broadway, in the film adaptation and The Lion King with Broderick, has appeared in a few episodes as a friend of Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet).
Broderick has made several recent appearances in TV shows, including Louie, 30 Rock and Fraiser. He also recently appeared in a Honda ad for the Super Bowl.
Modern Family’s fourth season kicks off on Sept. 26.
