Ever since Mike & Molly star Melissa McCarthy had her breakout role in Bridesmaids, her career has taken off and she has been recognized as a tremendous comedy talent. Apparently, she has caught the eye of director Todd Phillips because McCarthy is currently in talks to sign on for a small role in The Hangover Part III.
Variety confirmed that nothing can be set in stone yet because they are trying to figure out a way to fit the shooting around McCarthy's busy schedule. McCarthy wrapped production on Identity Thief and an untitled buddy-cop movie with Sandra Bullock. She also appears in the upcoming Judd Apatow film, This Is 40.
Collider reported that The Hangover Part III is currently undergoing production. This final part of the trilogy looks to be a slight deviation from its predecessors because it will be a road trip movie.
John Goodman has signed on to be the villain of the movie. Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Heather Graham, Justin Bartha and Ken Jeong are all set to return. The Hangover Part III is scheduled to release May 24, 2013.
