The late actor Michael Clarke Duncan was buried Monday in Hollywood, as many bid their farewells to him.
According to E! News, the attendees included talk show host Jay Leno, actress Vivica A. Fox, Duncan’s fiancee Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth and his The Green Mile (1999) co-star Tom Hanks.
Cover Media reported that the funeral took place in Forest Lawn cemetery.
Duncan died Sept. 3 at age 54 while at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles following complications from a heart attack that occurred July 13. Manigault-Stallworth saved him at that time by performing CPR on the actor. However, his organs were damaged due to a lack of oxygen to the brain. Duncan also stopped breathing for five minutes.
The autopsy later revealed that the actor’s death was due to respiratory failure.
Among his other films were Armageddon (1998) and Daredevil (2003). He was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in Mile. Before he became a star, Duncan also worked as a bodyguard for such stars as Will Smith, LL Cool J and Jamie Foxx.
