NBC fails to air 9/11 moment of silence, interviews Kris Jenner instead

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

NBC is receiving flak after airing an interview with Kris Jenner, the family matriarch of the Kardashian Klan, instead of pausing for a moment of silence for the victims of 9/11.

According to The Associated Press, Jenner appeared on the Today Show to discuss her boob job while neighboring networks and rivals observed a moment of silence to those lost on September 11, 2001 after terrorists attacked the World Trade Center in New York City.

Jenner remained throughout the entirety of her allotted time to discuss her boob job and this season’s ending of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Fans were not thrilled.

The news was first brought to attention on Twitter after a series of upset social media users tweeted their distain towards NBC’s lack of compassion. Among those tweets, Las Vegas Informer reports, includes, “@HoodReport “As an American i am offended by your disrespect to the fallen victims of 911 by not observing a moment of silence on the today show #NBC,” “@LeoPercer “#NBC prefers Kardashians over a moment of silence for 9-11. Let’s all forget to watch #NBC, shall we?”

As well as, “@FrankConniff “NBC cutting from 9/11 Moment of Silence for Kardashian interview was a moving memorial to the death of American culture.”

NBC later added the moment of silence to their West Coast edition.
