NJ bar Deena Cortese drank at before June arrest gets $15k fine, bans Jersey Shore' star for 2 years

Jersey Shore star Deena Cortese has been banned from a Seaside Heights, New Jersey bar following the reality star’s arrest in June after leaving there.

The bar, Spicy Cantina & Mexican Grille, was hit with a $15,000 fine by the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control for serving Cortese that day knowing that she was already intoxicated. She reportedly fell down a number of times and stood on top of a table while people were eating.

According to TMZ, after an investigation into the arrest, which saw Cortese getting arrested on June 10 for failing to use a sidewalk, the DABC smacked the bar and restaurant with the fine. As part of the terms of the deal, Cortese agreed not to go there for two years.

Cortese pled guilty after the arrest and paid $139 in fines.

"This settlement is a cautionary tale for licensees who might think ignoring the law for the sake of air time is good for business," said the division’s director Michael Halfacre, The AP reports. "By turning a blind eye to the mayhem that can be associated with reality television, you are risking your livelihood. That is, without a doubt, bad for business."

If within these next two years the Spicy Cantina & Mexican Grille violates any state alcohol laws again, they face a 10-day suspension of their liquor license.
