It was their first time at the VMAs, but it will probably be a night the boys of One Direction will never forget.
Harry, Liam, Zayn, Niall, and Louis not only had fans swooning with their debut VMA performance of “One Thing," but directioners came out in full force to make sure their boys walked away winners.
The British-Irish boy band walked away with three awards, taking home their first moon man before the show even started. During the pre show, they won the VMA for Most Share-Worthy Video, beating Justin Bieber. They went on to win the first award of the night, Best Pop Video, where they all got a kiss from presenter Katy Perry.
“We have grown up watching this show, and to even be here is an honor,” said Niall Horan. “To collect one of these [awards] on behalf of our fans is absolutely incredible.”
As they continued to thank everyone from the fans, their management and Simon Cowell, they joked that it didn’t take long to break their new award.
After performing on the VMA stage, the boys also walked away with Best New Artist. Watch the performance below:
