Randy Jackson is back in as an American Idol judge, while Enrique Iglesias is out of that same show.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox, the network which airs Idol, halted negotiations with Iglesias, who was touted as a possible Idol judge. The network is reportedly in favor of having Jackson return as a judge for the show’s upcoming 12th season.
Singer Mariah Carey was recently signed on the show, and both Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban are in the midst of their own negotiations to join the series.
Jackson has been a judge on Idol since its debut in 2002. He was initially planning to move into a mentor role for the upcoming season.
There is no word on why negotiations with Iglesias fell through.
"Listen, Idol is an amazing show," Jackson said Monday on the Today Show, according to Access Hollywood. "My friend Mariah Carey is there, I think she's going to bring a lot of excitement to it, and you know, let's see what happens!"
