Ryan Lochte was the subject of a parody on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live this past weekend, and he’s now reacting to it.
Host Seth MacFarlane portrayed the swimmer on the segment “Weekend Update, EW reports.
The Olympic gold medalist has commented on the skit, saying although it was “cool” to be recognized, he thought it was “harsh.”
MacFarlane painted the Olympic swimmer as someone who was a bit behind the curve when it came to television and pronouncing simple words.
“Hey Seth, I’m Ryan Lochte,” the Family Guy creator said to Seth Meyers, wearing a track suit and medals around his neck.
“The first one’s called ‘Monkey Hospital,’” he said, mistaking Animal Practice. “It’s a show about a monkey in a hospital. It’s so funny!”
He also mispronounced the show Go On with “goon.”
“Well I gotta admit that was a pretty harsh one, but it’s cool to have Seth parody me,” Lochte told Celebuzz. “I think he pegged me wrong, but when I heard he did a skit I knew I was in for it!”
“It’s all in fun and of course if I’m talked about on SNL I know they are gonna get me ‘Go-od,’” he added, referencing the mispronunciation in the skit.
