The weather wasn’t the only thing scorching at Sunday night’s 64th Primetime Emmys. It was also a hot night for fashion with color and cleavage dominating the red carpet.
Stars donned gowns in bright hues of blues and greens with shades of yellow leading the way. The newly pregnant Claire Danes, who took away an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Homeland, looked radiant in a bright yellow Lanvin gown. Julianne Moore (pictured below), Best Actress winner for HBO’s Game Change, also opted for a bright yellow dress by Christian Dior. While Julie Bowen went with a fluorescent Monique Lhuillier creation.
Although nominee Sofia Vergara didn’t take home an Emmy this year, she was one of the night’s big winners in the best-dressed category. Her glittering, emerald green gown designed by Zuhair Murad, hugged her in all the right places. She completed her sexy look with Neil Lane diamonds.
Kelly Osbourne, known for her unconventional style, went all out matching her purple hair color to her purple one-shouldered, low cut Zac Posen gown.
Presenter Ginnifer Goodwin looked elegantly chic in a tangerine Monique Lhuillier dress. Pairing it with Christian Louboutin shoes, Rona Pfeiffer jewels and flawless makeup gave her an unmatched glamorous edge.
More muted tones of blues and grays were just as flattering last night. Presenter Emily Van Camp's J.Mendel's understated soft gray gown was simply elegant. While ABC's Nashville star Hayden Panettiere chose a cool blue metallic Marchesa dress.
Project Runway's Heidi Klum pushed the thigh-high slit trend to new levels. With a plunging neckline and two leg-baring statements, her sea foam green Alexandre Vauthier gown was a red carpet head turner.
