new sounds for a new season

With a new season almost here, comes great new music for our listening pleasure.

This week, Pink released her sixth studio album, The Truth About Love.

Here is the artsy black and white video from her hit single “Blow Me One Last Kiss”

In February, she will begin her Truth About Love World Tour which starts in the US.

Rock band The Killers released their new album, Battle Born. Their sound evokes classic 80’s rock but is still fresh such as in the song “Runaways.”

Kanye West released his collaborative album, G.O.O.D. Music - Cruel Summer. It has Pusha T, Common, John Legend and Kid Cudi as well as other heavy hitters like R. Kelly, Jay-Z and Big Sean. They were all over the radio this week promoting the new album.

Alternative band Grizzly Bear released their fourth album, Shields. This quartet has a free flowing sound.

The unique piano based alternative rock trio Ben Folds Five released their first new album in the 13 years, The Sound of the Life of the Mind. Some stand out tracks are “Do It Anyway” and “Sky High.”

Skipping ahead to next week, there are some other exciting new releases.

The talented Mumford and Sons will release their highly anticipated sophomore album, Babel.

It includes the single “I Will Wait”:

Green Day will release their first of a trio of albums, Uno.

Meanwhile, No Doubt will be releasing Push and Shove. This is their sixth album which includes single "Settle Down."

In other news:

Justin Bieber is as popular as ever. He was named one of Billboard’s top artists under 21.

James Taylor is suing for unpaid royalties in the amount of nearly $2 million.

Dave Matthews Band topped the Billboard 200 chart this week.

And finally, The IHeart Radio music festival takes place this weekend. You can listen and watch the action live from Vegas.
