Why Kate is suing but Harry is not

By Mallory Hatten,

Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, found herself in the middle of an embarrassing scandal Friday morning when a French mag published topless pics of the princess during her Provence vacation with hubby Prince William last weekend. The Duchess of Cambridge decided to sue the mag, leaving people wondering why Prince Harry didn’t do the same after scandalous photos of the bare naked royal were published in a British tabloid.

E! News reports that although the cases are similar, in that they both involved nude pics, the similarities stop there. The photographer responsible for snapping Kate’s bare boobies majorly invaded the Royal Highness’ privacy. But Harry’s situation involved a party full of guests, in which a party goer snapped Harry’s covered genitals on a camera phone.

Still confused? According to Dan Grigsby, a sports and entertainment professional at Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell explained Harry’s situation like this: “He was in a hotel suite with other people who had been invited there. Maybe, by putting people on notice, asking people to put away cell phones, Harry could have expected that event to be private, but he apparently did none of that.”

On the other hand, Grigsby’s explanation of Kate’s situation was: “They believed they were alone. That helps [William] argue that he and his wife had a reasonable expectation of privacy.”

According to New York Daily News, the royal couple maintained incredible composure as their time in Malaysia came to an end tonight. The duo attended a farewell tea with Malaysian VIPs, including shoe designer Jimmy Choo. “[Kate] is an absolutely beautiful person both inside and out. Very much like Prince William’s mother,” the renowned shoe designer said.

Now, that’s a compliment!
